General Manager / Wine Director
Born and raised in Washington state, General Manager Julie Mackay has called San Francisco home since 2009. With nearly twenty years front of house experience, she’s worn every hat from hostess and server to manager and wine director. After honing her fine-dining expertise at Michelin-starred Quince and Michael Mina, she spent nearly six years operating AL’s Place, where she began her working relationship with Chef Daniel Evers and claimed the titles of both Wine Director and AGM.
As a former English teacher with an MFA in Poetry and sommelier certification, she brings finesse and elegance to the Itria front of house team-- keeping the staff’s tableside descriptions both eloquent and on point. “What I love about this industry is that you never stop growing. You never stop learning. True hospitality is not just preparing and presenting great food and wine-- it’s a love language. What we do is selfless at its core, and if we learned nothing else in 2020, it’s that human beings need community, love, and a reason to celebrate. And that’s exactly what we’re here to offer.”
